Tour to Machu Picchu Santuary and Cusco Hotels accommodation

Hello Rosa,

I am at the Lima airport waiting for my flight back home. I called Continental, but they said there is nothing they can do since they got the departure date right. Basically, she said that it was my fault that I did not realize earlier that the arrival time in Houston was wrong. I was so upset. And I was so upset that I missed the tour this evening.

Anyway, I would like to thank you and your team for the great assistance that I had while staying in Peru. Everyone was so nice and treated me very well. I really loved this trip. And I personally want to thank you for your kind and great assistance. I will definitely refer Perurooms to my friends.

9 days / 8 nights Program: Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley of the Incas and 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Subject: Amazing trip with PeruRooms Travel

We certainly needed to get acquainted with the altitude so we took a 3 hour nap. We headed out afterwards to purchase some items needed for our 3 day trek in the Lares Valley. This is when it hit us...even walking up the street was an effort. While we huffed and puffed, we strolled around lovely Cusco, grabbed lunch, snapped photos and went back to the hotel. We later met with our trek guide Rafael, who briefed us about our upcoming journey through even higher altitudes. We were excited to hear this was a private tour, and it would be my boyfriend and I, our guide, the cook, the porter plus 4 mules. This was all arranged through Perurooms travel, based in Lima. The general manager, Rosario, planned the remainder of this wonderful trip. The evening prior to our trek, we did what everyone tells you not to and drink heavily! We couldn't help ourselves...the food in Peru is amazing. So we went to Chi Cha on our final night in Cusco, another Gaston Acurio creation. The trout ceviche, suckling pig and 'suspiro' for dessert were all solid……

We arrived in Aguas Calientes after a lovely train ride through more beautiful mountain ranges. Rosario had booked us on PeruRail and it was enjoyable. Our guide, still with us, parted ways for the evening as he was staying at a nearby hostel. We had been booked at El Mapi hotel as part of our package. El Mapi is hip, trendy and for the young at heart. The bar area is lively and very busy. That day the power had gone out in the entire town. So our hopes of a hot shower were quickly shattered by cold shower by candlelight. This did not bring us down as this town is quaint, quirky and full of energy. The rate includes dinner and breakfast. Dinner was great...I had the quinoa tabouleh, roast suckling pig and skipped dessert I was too full. The next morning we had breakfast at 5 am, which was very good as well then met up with our guide and caught the bus at 530 to Machu Picchu. We beat the crowds and saw what everyone brags about. And yes, the grandour of this very special place is everything you expect it to be and more. Spent the day there and headed back to AC for lunch. We said goodbye to our guide and off we were to the train station.

We then headed to Ollantaytambo where we would be picked up by a driver from the stunning and perfectly operated, Tambo del Inka. Just a half hour later, we arrived at this magnificent luxurious hotel in the Sacred Valley. Our luggage had been picked up in Cusco by the hotel while we were on the trek, free of charge. As we got in our rooms, our luggage had been neatly placed in our closet prior to arrival. The staff at this hotel is the best. The concierge, bellman and front office staff always addressed me by name and my needs were not only met but anticipated. We took advantage of the wonderful spa and had massages to ease the pain in our legs. We also visited nearby Moray and Maras the following day and took some really cool pictures. I cannot describe how perfect this hotel is other than perfect. The breakfast buffet is stellar, the drinks at the bar are excellently crafted, the guestrooms are functional and beautifully designed, and the food at the restaurant can compete with any top fine dining establishment in the world . No expense or detail was spared at this hotel. Rosario had recommended this hotel as one of the best and it certainly was the perfect way to end our Peruvian adventure. Cannot wait to return to this beautiful country.... read more at

Subject: Great coordination, Complete experience wonderful guides

Perurooms put together an excellent program. Everything was coordinated perfectly with vans and drivers and private guides. The hotels in this area are wonderful in the 4 and above category, above expectations (Sol y Luna). We hike the 2 day Inca trail and arrived at the Sanctuary Lodge. Way to go for a family of 4. I was early at 5:20 AM getting passes for Huayna Picchu. I was the first one in the dark with the night guard but at 5:30 AM around 100 young people from all over the world arrived to get their passes. A guide is a must and we had the best with Marisol and Kerry.

Trip of a lifetime. Weather was great. People are wonderful. We were in Cusco for the election night and everything was in order. We stayed at a local apart hotel. Casona de la Recoleta, wonderful place for a family.

Start planning ahead, make plane reservations. We will be back!!! Take it easy and slowly with the altitude.

Dear Rosa.

Hello! I have finally put together several of the pictures from our trip. (We lost over 400 when we left one camera in a taxi!) Most of these were taken by our 19-year-old son Christopher. If these are too big. I can resize them for you. I'm not sure how many can be attached without making the e-mail too big to send. I have more if you'd like them.

You deserve a medal for all you've done for us!! Your people have been great! Thank.
