Hola Rosario

Dear Rosa Amelia:
I am back home now. The purpose of this email is to give you some feedback and to thank you for a trip well organized. My comments are the following:
1. Second Home Peru Hotel is fantastic.
2. Our tour guide in Lima was very good. She spoke perfect French and was charming and very friendly.
3. What we liked the best in Lima was the horse show.
4. In Cusco our tour guide Marisol got off to a difficult start. We tried to do too much...
5. Please explain to your clients that they cannot bring regular size suitcases on the train to Machu Picchu.
6. I told you our first night in Cusco that we were unhappy with Marisol because of her French. I should not have said anything. She is a very nice person and tries very hard to please.
7. The hotel in the sacred valley was a very nice surprise. It was beautiful and the rooms very large and nice.
8. Our hotel in Aguas Calientes was nice. The dinner was only ok. Machu Picchu was fantastic. Marisol did a very nice job of showing us the site and explaining the history.
9. The Sanctuary Lodge was exceptional.
10. The sunrise and sunset at Machu Picchu are not what you would expect. The fog or mist in the morning prevented us from experiencing a “sunrise”. It is just not what you expect. What you do experience is the arrival of the sunlight on the site, but not the sun peeking up over the mountains. It is still breathtaking. The sunset was the same. There was not sunset per se, but just the last sunlight hitting the site, which was very nice.
11. The train to Puno was exceptional. It was a first class experience.
12. The hotel at Puno was ok, but Lake Titicaca was breathtaking.
13. The Island of Taquile was also very nice. We had a great lunch followed by some hiking around the island. The island was beautiful. The trip to Lachon should be skipped. There was nothing to see there.
14. The trip to Lampa should also be skipped.
15. Arequipa was incredible. What a beautiful city! It was so European and classy. The hotel was extremely nice!!!
16. Arequipa upon our return was fantastic.
17. The bus ride on Cruz del Sur to Nazca was first class.
18. The hotel in Nazca was very nice. The rooms were very large and just very nice.
19. The Cruz del Sur bus to Lima was again very nice, smooth and enjoyable.
20. The hotel at the airport was very nice and could not have been closer to the terminal.
Overall, we were very impressed with Peru. The unsung heroes our trip were the drivers. All of our private vehicles you provided were first class. They were nice, spacious and the drivers were very friendly but, above all, were very good and took absolutely no risks. They were very talented and we always felt safe on the roads, which seemed very hectic and the driving chaotic.
I would also like to correct some misconceptions we had from the guide books we bought before arriving:
1. You do not need to bring toilet paper with you. There was toilet paper everywhere we went. Almost all the restrooms were ok and had soap. Just bring some “wet ones” or hand wipes.
2. We always felt safe when we walked by ourselves in the evenings without our guides. People were very friendly and accepting. The only exception I saw was Juliaca.
3. It is always nice to try to speak Spanish to anyone you deal with, but you can make yourself understood with a word or two. If people do not speak a lot of English sometimes, with a word or two of Spanish from us and a word or two of English from them, everyone understood each other. That is part of the fun of being in another country!
4. The food was very good. Try to go with the Peruvian dishes. The deserts are fantastic. The Chilean wine was outstanding. The piscos were always good. We brushed our teeth with tap water, but were careful not to swallow the water. The piscos had crushed ice. We never got sick. There is plenty of bottled water at very inexpensive price.
5. Breakfast in every hotel was great and better than in the USA, except for the hotel in Nazca.
6. You can use dollars or soles anywhere you go.
7. Credit cards are not always accepted in restaurants and not in most of the markets we visited.
8. Taxis are safe and reasonable. Just try to negotiate the price first. If you can, get the hotel or restaurant to arrange the taxi for you.
9. The planes inside Peru are very nice. They are every bit as good and on time as in the USA.
10. Restaurants are very good and reasonable. About ½ the price of what you pay in the USA. Get a recommendation from your guide or hotel.
Rosa Amelia, you did a great job for us. You cared about how things were going for us. When there was a problem, you took care of it. Although nothing can ever be perfect, you gave us a very nice and unforgettable trip. I will recommend you to all my friends.
Thanks again.

Just a note to thank you for helping to make our trip to Peru a memorable one. Having to change itineraries at the last minute because of the flooding didn't seem to bother you at all.
Your recommendations for accommodations and transportation were excellent. Our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. They adjusted well to the loss of the Machu Picchu area and the cancellation of the train from Cusco to Puno. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. We are going to come back to see Machu Picchu on a future trip.
Our trip to Iquitos and the Amazon area was a very different experience for us and it was obvious how our guides loved their work. They were very excited to show us their ecocenter area. We will certainly recommend you and your agency to our friends when they are planning their trips to your beautiful country.
Thanks again

Subject: October in Peru
During our visit to Peru in early October, the arrangements you made for our ground transportation, lodging and Machu Picchu tour were excellent. There were no issues and the trip exceeded our expectations.
Our traveling companions from Costa Rica were disappointed with their travel agent when they saw what Perurooms provided for us and at a lower cost.
We had a picture perfect trip to Machu Picchu with quality transportation and great guides. The sights we saw and the people we got to know in Lima and Cusco made for a perfect holiday. It was a spectacular trip!
One day we'll be back to see Colca Canyon and the Nazca Lines and Perurooms will be our first call.
Thanks

Thank you very much for helping us to plan our trip to Peru. We had a wonderful time and for sure we’ll recommend Perurooms.com (and you) to our friends.
Following is our testimonial:
A couple of months ago, my husband and I started planning for a trip to Argentina and Peru. We had made all the hotels and flight arrangements, but we needed someone to help us plan our tours and hotel/airport transfers in Peru.
We spent a few weeks getting quotes from different internet sites and while booking a hotel with Perurooms.com, we asked if they would also provide customized tours. In a very short time, Rosa Amelia sent us a proposed itinerary with a quote that we thought was very fair. We decided to go with Rosa Amelia from Perurooms.com and we had a wonderful time in Peru. osa Amelia successfully coordinated all our transfers and guided tours during our stay in Peru.
One of the things we really liked about working with Rosa Amelia in Perurooms.com was that she not only answered all our questions, but also recommended other options for us to consider while planning our tours. For example, she recommended a private tour to the Sacred Valley that included visiting the Chinchero Market, the ruins of Moray, the salt flats of Maras, and the Ollantaytambo ruins. This was a great idea and we really enjoyed the day. Our tour guide, Ivanov, and our driver, Jaime, were excellent and very knowledgeable. They took good care of us that day and we really appreciate that.
We had also planned to spend a night in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), and Rosa Amelia recommended that we go to the Machu Picchu citadel very early so we could first climb Wayna Picchu which would allow us to see all the Machu Picchu ruins early in the morning when the sunlight is perfect. We followed her recommendation. The hike and the view of Machu Picchu were memories we’ll always treasure. Thank you very much for letting us know about that!
Throughout our stay, Rosa Amelia kept in touch to make sure everything went as planned. We even contacted her the day before our departure from Lima in an effort to book a last-minute tour and she helped us get that done.
We had a wonderful time and we definitely recommend working with Rosa Amelia at Perurooms.com for your trips to Peru.
Thank you Rosa Amelia!

Thanks for your message. I apologize for the late reply but I had a very busy week.
We were very happy with the services you provided us and we have therefore no problem in giving our testimonial.
We generally prefer to organize our trips ourselves as we do not like organized trips. Preparation is a fascinating and essential part of our travels... but, at times, it may be time consuming and difficult.
It is therefore always a pleasure to discover efficient professional tour operators capable of helping us with our booking the same way as you did: fast, efficient and always kind!
I was particularly impressed when you called me here in Belgium to personally ask me a couple of questions necessary to finalize our bookings!
I can therefore only recommend you company and in particular you to anyone wishing to make a trip to your fantastic country
Best regards.
