Peru Travel News: Ayacucho invites tourists to traditional Christmas. New Year celebrations

Lima. Nov. 29 (ANDINA). The Andean region of Ayacucho. in southern Peru. invited domestic. foreign tourists to participate in traditional Christmas and New Year celebrations. Ayacucho’s governor Ernesto Molina said Monday.

“We encourage domestic and foreign participation in traditional activities scheduled for those dates. Folklore groups parade through the streets of Ayacucho. an event that draws dancers from all towns.” Molina said.

“Dancers go through churches and streets with masks until the Epiphany day or the arrival of the three wise men on January 6th.”

Molina also commented that tourists will be able to enjoy typical dishes from the region like puka picante. chicharron. ponche and the panettone from Ayacucho.

The governor also noted that tourists will enjoy different attractions of the region. such as structures built by ancient cultures (Wari. Chanka and Inca).
