Lambayeque. Aug. 05 (ANDINA). More than 17.000 Peruvian and foreign tourists visited the six museums located in the northern Lambayeque region during the long Independence Day weekend from July 28 to August 1.
Executive Unit 111 director Celso Sialer Távara said Thursday that the Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum was the most visited museum with over 8.500 tourists. followed by the Huaca Rajada-Sipan Museum with 3.432 and the on-site museum of Túcume with 2.165.
The Bruning museum. meanwhile. received more than 1.500 visits; the Sican National Museum. 1.400; and the on-site museum of Chotuna Chornancap. 156.
According to Sialer. out of the total tourists. over 15.000 (90 percent) came from Lima. Cajamarca. La Libertad. Arequipa. Amazonas. Ancash. Puno. Junin. Huancavelica and Tacna regions.
On the other hand. foreign tourists included people from the United States. France. Spain. Switzerland. Argentina. Belgium. Holland. Panama. Mexico. Brazil. Sweden. New Zealand. among others.
