Trujillo. Aug. 04 (ANDINA). The province of Trujillo received 26.905 local and foreign tourists during the long holiday weekend in the occasion of Peru’s Independence Day. reported the regional manager of Foreign Trade and Tourism from La Libertad. Bernardo Alva.
Out of this number. 24.948 people from other regions of the country arrived to Trujillo attracted by the tourist attractions of the ‘Ciudad de la eterna primavera’ (Everlasting spring city).
This number of tourists who arrived in Trujillo represents an increase of almost 10 percent compared to the same period last year (24.386).
Alva indicated that tourists visited the archaeological complexes Huacas del Sol y La Luna. Chan Chan and El Brujo. as well as Huanchaco resort. the Historical Center of Trujillo and attended the contest of Peruvian paso horses.
Trujillo. in northwestern Peru. is the capital of the La Libertad Region. and the third largest city in the country. It is located at the banks of the Moche River. near its mouth on the Pacific Ocean. in a valley of great cultural hegemony.
