Arequipa. Jun. 30 (ANDINA). Community-based rural tourism in the Colca Valley will be one of the activities offered to local and foreign visitors who plan to spend the National holidays in Arequipa. the regional manager of Foreign Trade and Tourism Rocío Cervantes said.
On the occasion of Peru’s Independence anniversary. new tourist routes will be promoted. such as experience tourism. especially at the Colca Valley in the province of Caylloma.
The valley of the Volcanoes and the petroglyphs of Toro Muerto. in the province of Castilla. are some of the attractions to be promoted during those days.
According to Cervantes. the support to community-based rural tourism is based on the fact that there are towens such as Sibayo. Callalli and Tuti at the Colca Valley that offer accommodations to local and foreign tourists.
'More than two years ago. houses at the Colca Valley were equipped with the support of the private sector and local governments with good results.' she stated.
