Lima. Apr. 05 (ANDINA).- Peru is likely to become the new core of world cuisine. said Spanish daily El Pais after consultations on the future of the Spanish gastronomy.
When renowned chef Ferran Adrià. owner of El Bulli. announced his decision of taking two sabbatical years. Spain wondered what would happen with its cuisine and some considered that the world’s new core could be Peru.
According to an article in El Pais. 'the change of horizons of Adrià means an ending point of an unrepeatable cycle of Spanish gastronomy. Of the global leadership of our culinary culture. A period is over. The questions are: now what? What will happen with this gastronomy that has been amazing the planet for two decades?'
The Spanish newspaper indicates that Spain has only a few years left as the leader of world cuisine and that the scepter will pass to another country. among them Peru. in which –according to El Bulli owner- the world’s most important culinary movement is growing.
'A period of reflection is being opened. The scepter will pass to another spot of the planet. Brazil. Peru. Japan. the Nordic countries. China or a mixture of all of them. It is called culinary multilateralism.'
