Lima. Mar. 08 (ANDINA).- The Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur) of Cusco will participate from March 10 to 14 in the tourism fair of Berlin (Germany) “Internationale Tourismus Börse – ITB 2010” in order to inform potential visitors on the current situation of Machu Picchu and promote other Cusco destinations.
Dircetur’s tourism director. Margarita Garcia Sotomayor. explained that Peru will tell the world that Cusco and Machu Picchu remain intact despite recent heavy rains and that the Inca sanctuary will be reopened on April 1.
“We are taking different promotional material to diversify the traditional tourist offer known about Cusco. We are going to disseminate the sports and adventure activities; as well as the community rural tourism. among other places.” the official told Andina.
Dircetur is traveling as part of the delegation of Peru's Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) which has assigned a stand to promote tourism in the region.
