Inca is located along the Coastal region of Peru. it is filled with enormous sand dunes and is surrounded my many excellent locations to visit. The local people in Ica are known for being very warm and welcoming. if you ever have any questions about the town don’t hesitate to ask a local for some help.
Within Ica are some very spiritual places you can visit. There is Huacachina Lagoon. a now manmade lagoon which was originally a natural spring in the middle of the Ica desert; this Lagoon has a story of a mermaid which lives within it and takes a man to its depths every year.
Outside Ica you are relatively close to the natural wildlife reserve of Paracas. here you will find a very calm ocean which is excellent for getting shellfish; needless to say the local cuisine is focused on sea food and primarily shellfish thanks to the standing water. A great tour to take from Paracas is the one to the Ballestas Islands nearby; they are home to a large community of sea lions and a variery of sea birds as well as the many types of fish this region is known for. Once on the boat you should be able to spot the “candelabro” or candlestick which is carved into one of the surrounding hills. It is a unique shape which is supposed to be as old as the Nazca lines.
This is another viable tour you can venture on from Ica. The Nazca lines are giant shapes which are focused on humans. birds. monkey and plant figures. They are shrouded in mystery and not much is known about their origin.
