There are many destinations for you to choose from when you decide to go abroad for a nice vacation.  You can literally choose from a myriad of thousands of great locations all over the world each possessing something great and original to offer travelers.  Some destinations are often frequented and others are a little more “of the beaten path”. if you’re looking for a place that is as the latter mentioned then you should definitely consider travelling to Peru and visiting Machu Picchu.

When you travel to Machu Picchu you will find an ancient city which is remarkably preserved. the architecture alone will amaze; remember the Inca Citadel is a complete city built high up in the Andes Mountains.   The scenic views travelers witness from these majestic mountains are an awe inspiring sight that leaves a permanent lifelong impression in all who travel to Machu Picchu. 

In order to reach Machu Picchu you first need to reach the city of Cusco; this city has many sights to visit and city tours to take. it is a place where you will find many travelers such as yourself eager to travel to Machu Picchu.  After taking your time to explore Cusco appropriately (about a day or two) you can try going to Ollantaytambo directly or try taking a trek or hike and arriving there at the end.  In Ollantaytambo you will find some ruins and a street market. very advisable to buy some souvenirs here since you will easily find handicrafts which are common to the local communities. 

The train ride is about 30 minutes and you will arrive in a small town called Aguas Calientes.  Here you can check in to your hotel and relax for the night.  Visitors usually wait till the next morning to begin ascending towards Machu Picchu. usually very early in the morning to try and catch the sunrise over the Andes Mountains. 

When you arrive at Machu Picchu remember to have a professional guide ready and waiting at the entrance.  they should be able to answer all your questions regarding the Inca Citadel.  In order to have a professional guide and include great hotels at great rates remember that it is always easier to consult with a professional travel service.  will make sure your travel to Machu Picchu will be a positive and unforgettable one that you will surely recommend to all your friends and family.
