By Hatuchay Hotels - Sustainable Development of present and future generations

Hatuchay Hotels - Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, has been designed and built according to the local architecture using wooden structures and Yarina and Irapay leaves, to preserve the majestic environment that surrounds it. We also contribute in a direct way with the protection of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, paying for the right of entry of our tourists to the reserve; this amount is used to pay the services of the rangers.

We generate jobs, by incorporating as collaborators, people from surrounding communities, through the service of local guides, canoe rentals and lodging services in shelters when the tourist requests.

Now, we started with the work of reforestation with aguaje, huasai trees, and dragon’s blood trees. We also have a new project for the preservation and rescue of wildlife, this is named Foster Family Majaz.

We are the first tourist company in the Peruvian Amazon, that works in the rescue of an Amazon culture: Kukama Kukamiria. We encourage the inhabitants of San Jorge community the rescue of the Kukama language, we invite you to join our team of collaborators, being necessary to have an interest in learning the language and accept a native. We encourage dancing in young people, offering an economic incentive for performance.
We also provide to its residents the necessary skills so they can generate income for their families, through the Project Artisan Women Pua Kamatawara, laundry women’s committee of San Jorge and moreover 80% of our collaborators are from this community.

Touch a life in a special way: Release 25 turtles

From October to November 15, passengers will feel a new life in their hands and set it free in Hatuchay Hotels - Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, we offer the release of 25 river turtles commonly called Taricayas.
We develop this activity following our Social and Environmental Responsibility program, which promotes the conservation and protection of this species, highly prized for their eggs, meat and shell. We have the cooperation of the Arequipa, Buenos Aires and Yanira coastal communities.
