The Inca Trail - Article

u is very well known for its numerous trails. treks and paths that travelers enjoy year round.  One of the most popular trails is known as the Inca trail.  The inca trail is traversed by thousands of lucky travelers every year looking to reach Machu Picchu the traditional way of the Incas.

The Inca trail to Machu Picchu. also known as Camino del Inca or Camino del Inka. consists of three trails: The first is Mollepata. Classic and One Day. Mollepata is the longest of the three routes with the highest mountain pass and intersects with the Classic route before crossing "Dead Woman's Pass". This trail is located in the Andes mountain range. the trail passes through several types of environments including cloud forest and alpine tundra. Settlements. tunnels. and many Incan ruins are located along the Inca trail before ending at the Sun Gate on Machu Picchu Mountain. The two longer routes require an ascent to beyond 3.660 metres (12.000 ft) above sea level. which can result in altitude sickness.

Either way you decide to take will definitely leave you breathless (in more ways then one). The Inca trail is undoubtedly a beautiful one filled with eye catching scenery booming with local flora and fauna.  The trails aren’t the most difficult so almost anyone can take them. the inca trail is really accessible to almost everyone.

Most trekkers prefer to take the 4 day inca trail excursion. this way they can enjoy it as long as possible.  The inca trail is a one in a life time experience for many reasons; one being how beautiful and remote it is and the other being the popularity of the trail.  Due to concerns about overuse leading to erosion has led the Peruvian government to place a limit on the number of people who may hike this trail per season. and to sharply limit the companies that can provide guides and tours to the inca trail. As a result. advance booking is mandatory.

A maximum of 500 people. including guides and porters. are permitted to begin the inca trail every day. As a result. the high season books out very quickly; the Inca trail is also closed every February for cleaning.Remember to contact your professional travel advisors at in order to book in advance for you inca trail experience.
