The municipality of Machu Picchu, in Cusco, proposed the creation of an “imperial circuit” and the enhancement of urban areas in the occasion of the centennial celebrations commemorating the discovery of the inca citadel, Mayor Oscar Valencia said Thursday. The project, which consists of 12 points, has been delivered to the Ministries of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Culture, and Environment, as well as to private entities.
According to the mayor, this route would begin at Plaza Manco Capac and include a stroll along the margin of the Aguas Calientes river to the El Mirador park and back to Plaza Manco Capac through the center of the city. (more…)
